Models Own: HyperGel, Naked Glow

I don't know about you but I always like to make sure my nails look pretty for work. But it's hard.
I always struggle - as a professional but fashionable young woman - to find the correct balance between making sure my tips look smart enough for the office but have got enough character to reflect my personality.

So you can imagine my delight when I found this gorgeous HyperGel Naked Glow by Models Own. It's the perfect polish for the working girl. Or, if you have a job interview coming up and you're struggling with what nail paint to wear, then look no further.

First of all, it's nude colour and we all know nude is hot, hot, hot right now. It's sexy but smart - subtle but scrumptious. What more can you ask for?

And because it's part of the 'HyperGel' range, it's slightly thicker and more glossy than your standard nail polish, giving it a more professional and shiny looking finish. This also means that generally you only need one layer of paint, which is always a bonus if you're in a rush.

#Tip: Make sure you wipe any excess paint off the brush using the rim of the bottle before painting your nails - multiple thick layers will look much better than one thick, uneven, layer (thick layers often make air bubbles and take longer to dry).

The only down side to it being a hyper gel is it can take slightly longer to dry - so, make sure you give it a good 15 minutes (at least) before touching anything, or else it will smudge. To be extra precautious, like me, blow dry your finger nails, just to make sure they are completely dry.

#Tip: For that extra shine and to ensure it lasts longer, use a base and top coat. Think of the base coat as a prima, preparing the nail for the polish and the top coat as a protector, prolonging the time before the paint begins to chip.

And if, like me, one solid colour is a bit too 'normal' for you, the here's my top three ways that you could add that taste of swagger to your tips:

1. Painting the ring finger is so 2013, it's all about painting the pinkie this year ladies. Why not make a statement and give your little fingers a touch of sparkle by using a glittery topcoat. A personal favourite of mine: Hot Stuff by Models Own.

2. Or if one's not enough, use the topcoat to give them all a hint of glitter - and with the nude colour peeping through, this is sure to look absolutely fabulous.

3. Midi-rings - you know as well as I do, they are the ultimate accessory of 2014 - worn either just above the knuckle, or just below. For full effect, make sure you are wear three to four rings on one hand.

Try it yourself and remember, stay fierce.
